Most of the meeting was spent on discussion of what to purchase. After presentation of the two storage systems (12TB and 24 TB Sun servers) and the spreadsheets on large (16 core AMD Shanghai) and small (8 core Intel Nehalem) systems, we arrived at the recommendation to purchase the following equipment:

1 Sun 24 TB Storage server

1 large - Dell R905 16 core AMD shared memory (64 GB of DDR2 RAM) system

3 small - Sun Fire x2270 8 core Intel shared memory (48 GB DDR3 RAM) systems

1- Ben Felzer's CCSM model is working on GCM cluster --Brandon,Ben

2- Status update on putting new clusters (GCM, ISE) into condor grid - Steve

Steve is in the process of upgrading Condor to the latest version on all clusters and pools connecting into Condor grid. He will notify us when this is completed. It will also enabled GCM and ISE clusters onto grid for idle cycles.

3- New ChemE cluster being spec'd for new Asst Prof Jaiteen Mittal (will include GPU's)

4- Update on Altair -- Steve

Report that Altair is still having disk problems and has been referred to SGI and ScaleMP for analysis of diagnostics.
